About BCA China Care
We are an independent, student run club at Bergen County Academies, and a recognized China Care Club under the China Care Foundation, Inc. To learn more about China Care Foundation visit: www.chinacare.org.
Club History
Bergen County Academies China Care (BCACC) was founded by Simon Li, a sophomore at the time, and the original executive board in November 2005. Membership quickly swelled to over 50 people in less than two months. In just the first year, BCACC helped fund a $3,000 life saving operation for a five month old boy abandoned in Shanxi province. The club also started the Dumplings Playgroup for adopted Chinese children at the end of the first year.

2010 at a Glance
In 2010, Bergen County Academies China Care has continued to make progress and flourish. We are proud to announce that in the past year, we have:
- Raised over $2,000
- Hosted 7 Dumplings Playgroups sessions for adopted Chinese children
- Hosted a Spring Festival for the adopted Chinese children and other students who wished to attend
- Donated $1,960 to help sponsor the project "Heal Fengjie's Heart".
2009 at a Glance
In 2009, Bergen County Academies China Care has continued to grow and make progress. We are proud to announce that in the past year, we have:
- Raised over $2,500
- Hosted 8 Dumplings Playgroups sessions for adopted Chinese children
- Donated $1,000 to the China Care Foundation during the Facebook Challenge, which was matched, making the donation amount to $2,000.
- Donated $4,000 to fund 2 cleft palette surgeries and a surgery to fix spina bifida.
2007 at a Glance
In 2007, Bergen County Academies China Care has made tremendous progress. We are proud to announce in the past year, we have:
- Expanded club membership to over 100 students
- Hosted 10 Dumplings Playgroups sessions for adopted Chinese children
- Met with students from other high schools to help them establish China Care Clubs at their schools
- Raised over $5,000
- Volunteered at the China Care Home in Beijing
Today, we continue to touch the lives of these children.
